About Me

Namaskaramu, Namaste, Hola, Bonjour, Ni Hau! Welcome to my personal life. If you want to know what I do for living, see below video (Jokes apart, see my professional section).

While I work hard to make sure my career is on its best path, I also enjoy life to the fullest. I was born and brought up in a small town called Piduguralla in INDIA. I am the youngest in my family (and thus a lot of pampering 😁).

Family

If you ask my mom about how much I earn or what I do at work, I bet she would have no idea. The only thing she cares about is if I am happy and having food on time. As a kid, when I tell her that I'm sleepy on a day before the exam, she gets me a blanket instead of tea/coffee. The amount of love I receive from her is immense.

Though he did not pursue higher education, my dad made sure that all of us received excellent education. I still remember the moment when he had happy tears at my CMU graduation ceremony. He loves travelling across the world and I love taking him to new places. Whenever I call my dad, his first question would be - “did mom not pick up the phone?”, haha.

Parents and better half are the two crucial people in everyone's life. I am happy that not only my superpower (/some say it God) given parents are the best but also my selection of better half is equally best. Mahitha enjoys my naughtiness, laughs at my stupid jokes and does anything to make me happy. She badly loves ice creams and chaats (sometimes I doubt if she loves them more than me 😜). After our wedding, she moved to U.S.A leaving her family and the place she lived for 24 years behind.

My siblings still treat me like a 10 year old and pamper me immensely (perks of being the youngest one). My elder sister is my go to person when I need to convince anyone in our family (she is the best at it) and my younger sister is my go to person when I need someone to tease. Elder one is a fitness freak and younger one is a cleanliness freak. Almost 80% of my wardrobe is occupied with the clothes either selected or bought by these two sisters. I wish there will be a day in the future when they would treat me as an grownup 😜. Both of them are married to the best husbands my family could ever wish for. My elder sister has a 14 year old daughter who is my second go to person for teasing (which is why she hates me 😜). I talk to her almost every other day.

My brother is one of the smartest minds I ever met. He is my go to person for career guidance and is also one among the persons who strongly believed in me and my talent. I still regret for not following his advice on applying to MIT, Harvard and Stanford. I took my first flight on his salary 😁. My brother is another person my niece hates because he teases her as much as I do 😜. He is married to one other best person our family could wish and they have a year old lovely son who is the most energetic and naughty kid I ever saw. I spend at least 10 mins each day seeing his funny videos and photos.

Besties

3 idiots that I can call even at 3 am and start talking random things are Sowmith, Manideep (yeah his name is Manideep too) and Anil. 99% of their comments on my social media posts are sarcastic/trying to pull my leg (that’s how besties are meant to be, right?)

Countries travelled (Luckily 70% of these are business trips)

  • U.S.A (States: Arizona, Georgia, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington)
  • Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Skye, Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Fort William)
  • France (Paris, Grenoble cities)
  • Canada (Ontario province)
  • Ireland (Dublin city)
  • INDIA (My mother land, visited multiple states)
My Travel Map

Favorite places

Scotland, Paris and Niagara Falls

Cuisines I tried (I am an Eggetarian)

Indian (Fav!), Ethiopian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, French, Moroccan, Italian, Nepalese, Greek, Spanish, Pakistani and Malaysian.

Some cool things about me

  • I donate 0.25% of what I earn every month (a resolution that I made on my 29 th birthday)
  • During my business trip to Las Vegas in 2019, I took a personal challenge to talk to strangers. Each day after work, I spoke to people of different nations. I will soon be writing a blog on this experience along with the pictures
  • I learnt HINDI language in Seattle (not every INDIAN knows Hindi!) just so that I could make heartful conversations with a bunch of good friends who would mostly converse in HINDI
  • I have a notepad file of 20kb with my bucket list items. I sometimes wonder if I can complete all of them in my life-time. Some of the items in the file include skydiving, solo world tour, drive (/even own) a Lamborghini, visit zero gravity zone, learn cool magic tricks, take CPR training, attend court hearings, read body language books and do some prank videos.
  • I once slept for 48 hours continuously
  • If you ever take me to a shopping mall and ask to pick 5 shirts, they would all be either Grey/White color (I know this isn’t ‘cool’ which is why I recently started buying other colors)
  • I currently stay right in front of Amazon world headquarters in Seattle. I am literally seeing Amazon Day 1 building in 50 feet distance as I type this sentence
  • I am one of those guys who hasn’t watched a single episode of Game of Thrones
  • People say I am a very good photographer
  • Almost 99% of the people I asked advice about university selection for my Masters said that I absolutely have NO chance to get into CMU. Some of them additionally recommended me to not waste money by applying to CMU. Exactly 2 years later, I graduated with an outstanding student service award from CMU. During my graduation ceremony, CMU said “Manideep undoubtedly helped raise the profile of CMU”.

What I do in free time?

  • Watch movies and prank videos
  • Play badminton
  • Hangout with friends
  • Sleep
  • Think on how to change the world

Things I don’t understand

  • Why do people say “I am not trying to be rude/racist/sexist” before they actually make a “rude/racist/sexist” comment
  • Why do people post irrelevant captions with their photos? I recently saw a girl’s photo where she was staring at a wall and the caption for it is “Success comes only after failures”. How is she staring at a wall relates to success/failure?
  • Why did “PPAP” song go viral?
  • Why are only cricketers (in INDIA) and movie stars treated as celebrities and not the people who risk their lives for nation (Army)? I recently read a post about calling movie stars as entertainers and soldiers as heros which I strongly agree with
  • Why do I like turning the fan, air conditioner ON and then fully cover myself with a blanket?
  • Why do some people ask “How are you doing?” when they really do not expect an answer

Most frequently asked question to me

Can you teach me how to hack? Can you hack my girlfriend/boyfriend account?

Profession I respect the most

Army

What would I be if not a security engineer/ What I really wanted to become?

Politician, Astronaut, Army person or a Movie star

Things I regret not doing

Not applying for MIT and Stanford for my Master’s. I might still have ended up going to CMU (since CMU is the best for Information Security) but I would have at least got to know if I was an MIT/Stanford material 😉

Bad habits

Teasing my niece and younger sister
Procrastination

People I admire the most

No one. I usually prefer not to have any admirers or take inspiration from anyone.

I can speak

English, Telugu and Hindi
